1. Plan Upgrades
Plan upgrades allow you to immediately access more listeners, higher bitrate, and advanced features.
How do Upgrades Work?
- Upgrade is **immediate**: instant access to all new plan features
- **Prorated payment**: you only pay the proportional difference for the remaining time in your current cycle
- **No interruptions**: your station stays online with zero downtime
- An **immediate charge** is generated for the prorated difference
Example: If you are 15 days away from renewal on the Starter plan ($29.99/month) and upgrade to Professional ($59.99/month), you will pay approximately $15 (half of the $30 difference).
2. Plan Downgrades
Downgrades reduce your plan to one with fewer features. Policies vary depending on your billing cycle type.
Downgrade on Monthly Plans
If you have a monthly plan:
- The downgrade **applies at the next billing cycle**
- **No refund** for the current month
- You keep access to **current features** until your paid period ends
Downgrade on Annual Plans
Hybrid 70/30 Credit System
📋 Hybrid 70/30 Policy
First 90 days (Grace Period)
If you downgrade within the first 90 days of your annual subscription, you receive **100% of the remaining value** as credit for your new monthly plan. No penalties.
After 90 days
If you downgrade after 90 days, you receive **70% of the remaining value** as credit, with a **30% penalty**. This model balances customer flexibility with business stability.
Important Note: The credit is automatically applied to future invoices of the new monthly plan, giving you free months. No cash refunds are issued.
3. Billing Cycles
JRMStream offers two types of billing cycles:
Monthly Billing
- Charged every 30 days
- Maximum flexibility to change plans
- No long-term commitment
Annual Billing
- Charged once per year
- 20-30% discount vs monthly
- Hybrid 70/30 credit system for downgrades
4. Proration Calculation
Proration calculates how much you should pay or what credit you receive when changing plans.
Calculation Formula
Daily Value = Plan Price / Days in Cycle
Remaining Days = Days from Today to Next Renewal
Charge/Credit = (New Price - Current Price) × Remaining Days / Total Days

6. Frequently Asked Questions
Can I upgrade at any time?
Yes, you can upgrade at any time. The upgrade is immediate and you only pay the prorated difference.
Why is there a 30% penalty on annual downgrades?
Annual plans offer significant discounts (20-30%) assuming a one-year commitment. The penalty after 90 days balances the discount received with the flexibility to change plans.
Can I get a cash refund?
No. Downgrade credits are automatically applied as account balance, giving you free months on your new plan. We do not issue cash refunds.
What happens if I cancel my account with available credit?
Unused credits are forfeited when you cancel your account. We recommend using the credit before canceling.
Can I change between monthly and annual?
Yes. From monthly to annual is a normal upgrade. From annual to monthly applies the hybrid 70/30 policy described above.
How do I see my available credit?
Your credit appears in your dashboard under "Account Balance". You will also see how many free months you have left.
